SIG Pro only showing {gallery}{/gallery}

Two days ago, I purchased the SIG Pro plugin. I'm excited about it, but I can't seem to get it working.
I have Joomla! version 1.6.5.
I use the most recent version of SIG Pro 2.5.2 which I downloaded yesterday and installed on a clean install of Joomla! I have no plugins other then SIG Pro. SIG Pro is the first content plugin to load.
I try to display a gallery using the basic syntax {gallery}images/collection/collection1:100::0:1:jquery_slimbox:polaroids{/gallery}
On the frontend, it shows {gallery}images/collection/collection1:100::0:1:jquery_slimbox:polaroids{/gallery} instead of a gallery.
First question: Can I use the core content component that comes with Joomla! to display the gallery using the above syntax? Or do I need to install the K2 enviroment?
Second question: How do I make it display the gallery instead of the line above? Do I need to alter my Joomla! configuration?
Thank you in advance for your answers.

{gallery}collection/collection1:100:120:0:2{/gallery}
and I put my custom popup and gallery settings jquery_colorbox and Galleria in the SIG Pro plugin settings.
It works perfectly
But, when I put the syntax as follows:
{gallery}collection/collection1:100:120:0:2:jquery_colorbox:Galleria{/gallery}
It does not show my gallery.
Could this be a bug?

All the directories like image directory and cache directory have permission 777
But I still receive the message..
There was a problem rendering your image gallery. Please make sure that the folder you are using in the Simple Image Gallery PRO plugin tags exists and contains valid image files. The plugin could not locate the folder: images/foto
This happen with both the websites:
www.franchisingviaggi.eu/_test/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=5&Itemid=114
www.comune.casatenovo.lc.it/it/generale/foto

Katia, you told me this is a permission issue.
Have I forgot to grant permission to any other directory?

Root folder for image galleries -> media/k2/galleries
If you do not do this before you will have error
To correct go to the image folder on the server: root/media/k2/galleries -> delete image folder you uploaded
Then go to the item you have upload image on k2, click on Image gallery tab, click in check-box for delete and click apply or save
Now upload zip image forder and save. That is it.
I also purchased the sig pro and I have the same error message on the back and fron end :There was a problem rendering your image gallery. Please make sure that the folder you are using in the Simple Image Gallery PRO plugin tags exists and contains valid image files. The plugin could not locate the folder: media/k2/galleries/28
I dont know if this is a permission issue, Im a newbie and dont know hot to set these permissions, can anyone help me please.
